I took 3 cake decorating Wilton classes at a craft store because my step-sister-in law's sister was teaching a class and encouraged me to go. I needed a new hobby and it was nice to take the classes at night after everyone at home was tucked in :) I used to bake my cakes in a Pyrex dish and use store bought icing. Now its all changed.
I enjoy decorating for birthdays or baby showers, whenever things don't have to be perfect :) Wedding cakes intimidate me but who knows maybe I'll make some for my children one day :)
